  1. Dang, that foot articulation and the over the shoulder cannon. Definitely wins.

  2. It looks like the Core Fighter has been sacrificed so they could fit an LED unit in the chest. My gripe with the backpack can be fixed with a little scratch building, but the same cannot be said for the Core Fighter itself.

    • Actually, the Core Fighter is sacrificed for an all new lower torso frame design to allow greater movement. We’ll talk more about it on Gunpla TV!

      • The Core Fighter was completely redesigned for Gundam The Origin making it much more compact than the original FF-X7 Core Fighter. I was hoping that this MG release would include the updated core fighter as a means to further differentiate it from the RX-78-2 which seems to have used the same FF-X7 since 1995.

  3. articulation is definitely there but i have mixed feelings with the proportions. still deciding between this or the 3.0 …
@Mathew, what was your gripe with the backpack?

    Reply
    • The cannon mounted backpack had slightly different detailing and three verniers instead of the two found on most RX-78 variants.
