1/144 Cybaster SP (Spirit Possession Ver.) – Available From HobbyLink Japan
Here comes Cybaster Spirit Possession Ver. from Super Robot Wars in 1/144 scale. Let’s take a look at what’s inside the box!
Any stack of wooden boards nearby is cowering after seeing this cover.
The box is a little bigger than a now-typical MG.
The side of the box shows the price of 8000 JPY in the corner. But you can get 20% off at HLJ.com!
When you crack open the box, the purple is already looking sharp.
Instead of art, the cover of the manual shows a sharp-looking finished model with a cool looking set of wings.
The building process doesn’t seem too complicated, although there are a fair number of parts.
The end of the manual has an introduction to Cybaster and the pilot, along with official color guide.
Back of the manual that introduces each part of Cybaster.
Plates shown in alphabetical order.
Some final thoughts. The Super Robot Wars line is becoming bigger and bigger, and it’s now at the point that they’re re-making some classic mecha to go along with their regular releases of new ones. This Cybaster is a perfect example, as it’s got 3 kits in different sizes, a small non-scale one, a 1/144 scale model that can transform, and this latest one: the spirit possession version. With a slightly higher price and a much sharper look, I can’t wait to see what it looks like when you put the plates to good use. Plus, there are some clear parts, and a huge sword with some nice sculpting. Will the detail cover the body, will it stay together, and how much can it move? Let’s find out in Part 2!
Freedom from possession!
