The photo was taken in late August – I was painting the parts of MG RX-78-2 v3 which I took with me on a lengthy business trip do Dublin. Haven’t painted anything since then. The lowest acceptable temperature for me is 17-18C . When I was back (mid-October) it was 10C already. I guess next painting season will begin in May for me.
hello,
@ Jonathan : Zeon decals may be out of place no ? as it is from gunpla build fighters series
@ Gamma Bear : maybe add some details on the backpack, and some silver touchs ( like on the RG Zaku ) well it’s just me :p anyway it looks fine like that 😀
@Jonathan: I’ll try to scavenge unused decals from my friends. Maybe some numbers for the shoulder? @Zenou: I also think that the backpack is a little bit “plain”, but I can’t think of what to do with it. I might paint the thrusters silver.
yes looking nice 🙂
do you have any issue with the kit being a bit “flimsy”, i got the hikaru one and in gerwalk mode it’s like it’s going to fall apart 😡
I have Hikaru one as well. It holds well, although it lacks the sturdiness of MG/HG kits. Few VF-25 kit I have also have that feel, but still they are solid enough to stand on it’s own in gerwalk mode, even the super heavy Armored Messiah. The Strike parts for VF-1 though are a totally different story – the two pods on top of the kit barely hold…[Read more]
@Michael : Hello, nice picture from your window 🙂
I can’t do the same as you because i’m living in a big city ( Paris ) in an appartment and I really can’t open the windows to spray ( not to mention the noise )
I was thinking about a painting booth but not for now :p

I’m using Vallejo and gunze mostly ( I like gunze as they are pretty easy to use and more solid than the vallejo ) and tamiya for detailing. as for the enamel paints i use tamiya and Humbrol for panel lining and reverse wash.
Same here. What paint brands do you use? I use mostly Vallejo and Revell and some Tamiya paints. Vallejo is good in terms of opacity but its durability is limited since you can scratch it very easy. Revell and Tamiya can be quite bitchy, it varies from color to color.
