Following the prior release of Sentinel’s excellent Metamor-Force Dancouga and Black Wing, we now have a much larger Eagle Fighter to contend with. This poses some interesting questions but thankfully it’s an amazing figure in its own right.
Dancouga is probably my favorite super robot anime and deals with the aftermath of a worldwide invasion by a strange alien force called the Muge. However, humanity is by no means giving up and their Cyber Beast Force is capable of turning the tide of the invasion all on its own.
This is because it employs the latest Cyber Beast Machines, these being the Big Moth, Land Liger, Land Cougar, and the Eagle Fighter. When combined together they form the hugely powerful Dancouga.
Now previous releases from this anime featured the whole set of Cyber Beast machines, which then assembled into Dancouga. Bandai did this with its excellent Soul of Chogokin Dancouga and more recently Sentinel did likewise with its Metamor-Force Dancouga.
What’s different here is that we just have the Eagle Fighter and that begs the obvious question whether Sentinel will follow this up with more Cyber Beast Machines.
The other major point to make here is that this figure is a lot larger than the Eagle Fighter in the prior Metamor-Force Dancouga release. So if Sentinel is planning on releasing more Cyber Beast Machines at the same scale, the resultant Dancouga would be huge.
In any case, this is an interesting figure on a few counts and it’s nice to have the Eagle Fighter done in a larger scale for a change.
If you’re a fan of Dancouga you may want to keep an eye out for the review when that goes up!
