Following the amazing NX Edge Style Hi-Nu Gundam from Beltorchika’s Children, Bandai has released its necessary companion, the beastly NX Edge Style Nightingale. This is a surprisingly lovely little toy and it’s amazing that it even exists at all.

To explain, Beltorchika’s Children was a novelisation of the movie Char’s Counterattack. With differing events and characters over the movie, it also had new mobile suits as well.

The first of these was Amuro Ray’s RX-93-ν2 Hi-Nu Gundam and unlike the RX-93 Nu Gundam from the movie, the Hi-Nu was the final completed form of the mobile suit. The second of the new mobile suits was Char’s Aznable’s MSN-04II Nightingale, which was a much larger and more powerful version of the MSN-04 Sazabi from the movie.

Both of these designs used to be relegated to insanely expensive garage kits but in recent years, Beltorchika’s Children has had somewhat of a resurgence in terms of its popularity, with the mobile suits ending up in various games as well as getting new model kits and actual toys.

While the Hi-Nu Gundam has received a fair few toys already, the Nightingale has only been given one very nice and massive 1/100 scale kit. Well, until now at least.

Like the previous NX Edge Style Hi-Nu Gundam, this Nightingale utilises the same super deformed proportions. This is something that fans of Super Robot Wars should appreciate.

The toy itself is surprisingly detailed and nicely articulated with it. It’s also quite a bit larger than the Hi-Nu Gundam, as it should be, and is quite imposing despite its cuter proportions.

This is a lovely little toy, so keep an eye out for the review.
