I am on it! I love drawing and I haven’t drawn on paper for a long time. I haven’t got a mechanical pencil anymore, so I’m gonna try my PILOT Drawing Pen. Gotta draw my piece without any mistakes! The challenge is ON! Submitting it tomorrow!

Personally I feel it’s a bit narrow-minded to exclude digital artists from something like this. I can’t think of why a rule like that would make sense.
I mean, if the idea is to prevent skilled digital artists from dominating the competition – nothing prevents a skilled traditional-media artist from dominating the competition.
If the idea is to stop people from using the digital image software as a way to cheat – there’s nothing to stop someone from cheating via traditional media (i.e. tracing and so on)
If the idea is to level the playing field for people who can’t afford good digital art software and peripherals (i.e. a tablet) – the playing field can’t be level, because you still need a way to get the image onto the computer eventually.
I just think we’re past the point where digital art ought to be marginalized in this way. We’re actually at the point where digital art is easier and more accessible for many people, especially when the end goal is to send the image in to a website.
Ryan Gunpla TV
I think you are missing the point of the competition, we don’t want picture perfect digital art. Everyone has access to pen and paper and not the latest image manipulation software. The point of this contest is to have fun and not get into an argument about traditional vs digital media.

Do we have to draw them as they are posed as figures, or can we give them different features and expressions? Example: drawing Melon Kuma with realistic proportions
Ryan Gunpla TV
You can draw Melon Kuma any way you would like.

Ryan, they meant and i’m wondering too, if we have to draw him eating an actual PVC action figure, like D-arts-figma revoltech, etc or the actual character as they are shown in the tv show.
Example, draw RD evangelion with all the articulations from the toy figure, or just draw evangelion unit X as it appears on the tv show, please clarify this on the post.
Thanks.
Ryan Gunpla TV
You can draw the figure either as it appears in the tv show or as the articulated toy figure.
Yu
Can we draw more than one anime character?
Ryan Gunpla TV
Yes, you can draw more that one anime figure in a single drawing.

“we’re actually at the point where digital art is easier and more accessible”
You’re actually trying to argue at a minimum $500 computer is more accessible than a 25¢ pen/pencil and piece of paper.
I have no clue who this character is, but I’ll see if I can come up with anything good.
chris
