1/144 F-15 ACTV Active Eagle (Muv-Luv) by Kotobukiya – Available from HobbyLink Japan
The new model from Muv-Luv, Boening’s F-15 ACTV Active Eagle, joins the shelf party in plamo form! Let’s get active and see what’s inside with the unbox…
You get the impression of a lot of rapid activity on the cover, and an image of pilot Tarisa Manandal for a bonus.
The box is almost the same size as a bigger High Grade from Bandai.
The side shows the price of 4000 JPY in the bottom right corner. It’s a good price for a Kotobukiya kit, and remember you can get another 20% off at HLJ.com!
Additional weapons and parts shown are shown off. The action pose looks active enough, but can you pull it off in the real world?
Good mobility is promised, along with the appropriate markings for the shoulders, and it’s looking pretty good even without any paint added besides what Kotobukiya already does for you.
The cover of the manual matches the box.
The manual is in a brochure form. It doesn’t look too complicated.
Weapons, specs, and pilot info along with some nice images of the kit are shown off inside.
Though it might seem monochrome at first look, it’s actually all about the two different shades of grey.
Here are most of the plates shown in alphabetical order.
Some final thoughts: The Muv-Luv kits have been quite good so far, with details abound, and the pre-painted parts are always a plus. The mobility has also been good for the scale, with some simple yet solid design involved for the joints. Will the Active Eagle stack up in the same way? While there don’t seem to be a lot of weapons and accessories, the poses on the box and manual look intriguing, so let’s see it in action in Part 2!
